Car Park Lighting, Herne Hill MDU

Project Overview: Swiftsure Electrical were tasked with installing new car park lighting at the Herne Hill Maintenance Depot. The objective was to provide sufficient lighting for Network Rail workers to load and unload their vans safely and efficiently.

Key Features and Installations:

  1. Flood Lights: We installed a series of flood lights on posts running along the car park. These lights are controlled by a dusk-to-dawn sensor, ensuring that the area is well-lit during the hours of darkness.

  2. Galvanised Conduit: To protect the wiring and ensure durability, we ran galvanised conduit along the fence line to each light. This not only safeguards the electrical cables but also maintains a neat and organized appearance.

  3. Consumer Unit: A new consumer unit was installed inside one of the containers, as the existing board did not meet current regulations. This upgrade ensures that the electrical system is safe, reliable, and compliant with the latest standards.

  4. Testing & Certification: Upon completion the installation was thoroughly tested and an EIC certificate issued to out client.

Outcome: The project was completed successfully, providing ample lighting for the car park and enhancing the safety and efficiency of the depot operations. The new lighting system, controlled by the dusk-to-dawn sensor, ensures that the area is illuminated only when needed, contributing to energy efficiency. The installation of the new consumer unit guarantees that the electrical system is up to date with current regulations, providing peace of mind for the client.
